• Writing a news story.
• Using the information below and the stories from your "You Are the Producer" write the script for two of your stories
• You will need to set the information up as it is show in the 2nd page
  • You can do this in Word with Column, on lines paper, in Excel
• Time your story--It must be at least 90 seconds long
  • You cannot just say--video for 60 seconds, you need to decide what is in the video (you are in charge)

• Fill in this worksheet once you have READ the article (you must read it first, do not try and do this before you read the ENTIRE article)

Assignment 1--Wednesday, May 18th and Thursday, May 19

What is going on in the world?

• You are going to read 6 news articles. These articles must be about current events. Sports articles will not work if they are simply a recap of last night's game
• Read the ENTIRE article
• Go into Word and give a summary for EACH article
  • Tell HOW it relates to you, those around you or just life in general in the summary

• Each Article Summary must have a TITLE like the example below
• You must use at least 4 different news sources for this
  • www.freep.com, www.detnews.com, www.nytimes.com, www.usatoday.com, www.cnn.com are just some examples, there are MANY more.
• All summaries must be on the same document
• Email it as an attachment to ferrer01@southredford.net
• This must be sent before the end of class on Thursday

Dog Owner Sued over Dog Attack

PARAGRAPH Summary about what happened and what you think. A paragraph is 5-7 sentences long. If you can't write that much PICK a new article. Do not just copy and paste the article. I want to hear what you think from reading this, I can read the whole article by following your link!
